INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL GRADUATE (IMG) PROGRAM

The KAMA IMG Program invites applications from Kurdish International Medical Graduates (IMGs) from around the world to join KAMA’s mission of mentoring and training a growing number of Kurdish doctors in the United States and Canada. This program seeks dedicated and eligible IMG trainees who are passionate about expanding the presence and impact of Kurdish physicians in order to better serve the Kurdish community.

KAMA IMG trainees are expected to help educate and empower fellow medical students and trainees to become more effective healthcare providers.They will collaborate with established physicians and peers to enhance the quality of medical education and training in North America.

ELGIBILITY

  • Kurdish internal medical graduates (IMGs) pursuing medical residency in the United States.
  • Completed all requirements to apply to residency. 
  • Candidates must exhibit impactful dedication to enhancing medical education in the Kurdish community and demonstrate a history of scholastic achievement.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Work with their assigned residents/physicians mentors 
  • Once matched into residency, train 1-2 upcoming trainees over a 3 year period 
  • Adhere to the KAMA mission and vision 
  • Attend a brief IMG Trainee meeting every 4 months

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Complete the IMG Program application
  • Medical school diploma or transcript
  • USMLE Step scores (Step 1 and Step 2CK)
  • Updated resume or CV
  • Professional photo
  • Name and contact of your references (at least two)
