KURDISH AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION

The Kurdish American Medical Association (KAMA) is a nonprofit, educational, and humanitarian organization comprised of medical professionals of Kurdish origin and their colleagues in the United States and Canada. KAMA aims to provide a platform and network for medical advancement, academic growth, community service, and mentorship.

Our mission is to serve the professional interests of current and future Kurdish-American physicians, while improving public health within the Kurdish-American community through education, outreach, and advocacy. We are committed to mentoring and empowering students pursuing careers in healthcare, guiding the next generation of medical professionals dedicated to service and excellence.

TASK FORCES

CARDIOVASCULAR

The Cardiovascular Health Task Force empowers the Kurdish community through education and by providing resources to combat heart disease. 

Led by:
Dr. Heval Kelli, M.D.

MENTAL HEalth

The Mental Health Task Force works to improve the access to resources and improve mental health in the Kurdish community by tackling stigmas that act as barriers to mental health care.
Led by:
Dr. Arazoo Shwany, D.O.

PREVENTATIVE HEALTH

The Preventative Health Task Force focuses on collaborating as a team to identify modifiable problems and health issues in our Kurdish Community and to educate the public on how to better improve the quality of life of themselves and their loved ones.
