Inspire Future Healthcare Leaders
KAMA is a nonprofit, educational, and humanitarian organization of medical professionals of Kurdish origin and their professional colleagues in the United States and Canada.
  • We invest in inspiring, guiding and mentoring future Kurdish American healthcare professionals and leaders.
  • The majority of the Kurds in America are from underserved backgrounds and have limited access to mentorship and resources.
  • KAMA sponsors students and future healthcare workers by providing scholarship waivers and grants for medical admission exams and applications. We provide Scholarships to our Healthcare Leaders Fellows and Community Leadership Scholarships every year. Our students are selected based on their engagement in KAMA by serving the community and working toward our mission of mentorship and service.
  • KAMA is also becoming an parent organization for Physician Assistant, Pharmacy, and Dental students.

"KAMA gave me a platform to reach my highest potential, and receiving the Community Leadership Award allowed me to expand my leadership and further serve my community in the best way possible: - Sumaya Muhamed

"Being awarded a KAMA scholarship helped lighten the financial burden of paying for medical school applications, and allowed me to focus more on the most important aspect of my medical school journey, learning and being of service to my Kurdish community. Works of philanthropy make life easier for us students, therefore we owe it to donors and the KAMA family to succeed and give back to the community that has provided for us." - Kashan Muhammad

100% of our donations and sponsorships are invested in students and our communities.

  • 100% of medical students engaged in KAMA matched in the residency of their choice
  • Over 80% of Kurdish American pre-med students are mentored by KAMA
  • Over 20 community and public health projects have been started by our members.
