Public Health Campaign
Raising Disease Awareness in the Kurdish Community

Kurds are a large ethnic group that have been forced into a diaspora due to genocide, persecution, forced resettlement, and war to protect themselves. Because of this, there is a large aging Kurdish population with extensive language barriers and prevalent health disparities across the world to where they have settled. In addition, most of the leading causes of death, shared across all ethnicities in western countries, are preventable or can be significantly influenced by lifestyle modifications.

The following health campaigns are created to teach the
Kurdish public, and the public at large, about the most prevalent modern diseases, as well as steps that can be taken to prevent or mitigate them. The Kurdish American Medical Association hopes to share this medical knowledge (general to healthcare workers but not always accessible to the public) to help save lives through education.
